• relevant legislation, regulations, CSA Standards and manufacturers recommendations regarding the detailed inspection and requirements for Fall Protection and Rescue equipment.
• How to locate the information and procedures to determine the requirements for periodic inspection of all specific fall protection equipment used by the company or organization.
• hands-on inspection and identification of defects and damage to a variety of Fall Protection equipment, but not limited, to the equipment listed below:
• anchor connectors; Cable, Synthetic; Beam Clamps; Rail Clamps; Hooks
• full body harnesses
• lanyards
• personal energy absorbers
• snap hooks
• carabiners
• self-retracting lifelines and lanyards
• vertical lifelines
• rope grabs and fall arresters.
• shackles
• beam clamps
• block and tackle type rescue systems
• descent control devices
• positioning systems
• pre-engineered, temporary horizontal systems
• information regarding the frequency of detailed inspections
• Completion and recording of inspections in a manner which includes the detailed information required to ensure equipment may be traced while in service.
• trainee qualification
• Evaluation of the trainee’s knowledge retention by both a written test for the theory and the review of documented inspections for the practical portion.
Instructions
Trainees can bring their own PPE for inspection.
Safety Footwear, tool belt, hard hat, gloves & glasses are required.
Course Length: 2 Day (16 Hours)
Courses run 7:45AM – 3:45PM daily at the location you have selected.
